Canadian esports organization Shopify Rebellion has officially unveiled its new Dota 2 roster for the 2024/2025 season. This announcement comes as the team looks to improve upon its previous performances and compete in the upcoming series of qualifiers.
New Additions to the Roster
The new roster, revealed on September 22, features a mix of familiar faces and fresh talent. The standout signing is Enzo “Timado” Gianoli, who recently departed from his former team, OG. Timado will step in as the position one carry for Shopify Rebellion, bringing a wealth of experience to the squad.
Two other notable additions to Timado are Ukrainian player Mark “Mangekyou” Kharlamov and Belarusian support Kirill “Hellscream” Lagutik. Hellscream’s signing is reportedly on a trial basis, adding an element of uncertainty to his long-term position within the team. Together with the Filipino duo of Erin Jasper “Yopaj” Ferrer and Andrei “Skem” Ong, this diverse lineup aims to bring renewed energy and strategy to the organization.
The Complete Shopify Rebellion Roster for Dota 2
As of September 22, 2024, the Shopify Rebellion Dota 2 roster is as follows:
- Enzo “Timado” Gianoli
- Erin Jasper “Yopaj” Ferrer
- Mark “Mangekyou” Kharlamov
- Kirill “Hellscream” Lagutik (trial)
- Andrei “Skem” Ong
This revamped lineup marks a significant shift for Shopify Rebellion, which has struggled in recent seasons to maintain its status among North America’s elite teams. The departure of iconic player Artour “Arteezy” Babaev has left a gap that this new roster hopes to fill.
A Shift in Strategy
With no formal rules governing regional requirements for Dota 2 teams, organizations like Shopify Rebellion are increasingly fielding international rosters. This trend reflects a broader shift within competitive play, allowing teams to draw talent from various regions. Currently, Shopify Rebellion’s lineup includes players from Southeast Asia and Eastern Europe but notably lacks any native North American players.
Shopify Rebellion is set to make its competitive debut with this new roster in the BB Dacha Belgrade Americas Closed Qualifiers on September 23. Following this event, they are also expected to participate in the DreamLeague S24 qualifiers later this month. These upcoming matches will be crucial for assessing how well the new roster adapts and performs under pressure.
