Just one month after beginning her campaign, US Vice President Kamala Harris has narrowed the gap in numerous significant swing states, according to a new survey, in the fierce contest between her and former President Donald Trump.
Prior to dropping out of the presidential contest, President Joe Biden’s polling numbers were compared to Senator Harris’ support in four pivotal states in a series of fresh surveys that Fox News disclosed on Wednesday.
Harris holds modest edge in Arizona, Georgia, and Nevada
The study revealed that both rivals are within two percentage points of each other in four swing states that could impact their future in the November election.
According to the poll, Harris has a little advantage in Arizona, Georgia, and Nevada, while the former President leads by a razor-thin margin in North Carolina. In Arizona, the US VP garnered 50% support compared to Trump’s 49%.
Harris also led Trump by two points (50 to 48 percent) in Georgia and Nevada. In North Carolina, Trump leads the Democratic presidential contender by one point, 50% to 49%.
The survey results were all within the poll’s margin of error, indicating that the four critical Sun Belt battleground states are still uncertain ten weeks before Election Day.
In the 2020 election, Biden won Arizona, Georgia, and Nevada by less than one percentage point, while Trump won North Carolina by more than one point.
The four swing states have 49 Electoral College ballots up for grabs, with six in Nevada, 11 in Arizona, and 16 each in North Carolina and Georgia.
The Fox News poll was conducted between August 23 and 26.
“It’s that time of year again”
The Trump campaign criticized Fox News for releasing atrocious polling results, stating that the survey was “off” in North Carolina, Arizona, and Nevada during the same time period in 2020.
It also said that the former President continues to outperform polls from past cycles. “President Trump is 10 points ahead of where he was in Arizona at this point in 2020, according to Fox. Likewise, he is running 8 points ahead of his 2020 polling in Nevada and 5 points ahead of his 2020 polling in North Carolina,” They said in a statement.
The Trump campaign stated that they are witnessing the same “trend nationwide.”
