At a store in Yulee, Florida, Maggie Prescott unintentionally dropped the ring. It was located at a nearby house by Deputy Mitchell Spencer three weeks later.
Deputy Finds Lost Engagement Ring
According to a sheriff’s office in North Florida, a determined deputy has performed something of a miracle and found an engagement ring that was misplaced in the parking lot of a Florida Target three weeks ago. Deputy Mitchell Spencer of Nassau County successfully completed the seemingly impossible assignment by approaching it as if it were a case of a missing person. Maggie Prescott was unsure of the precise location where she lost the ring on August 15 at a Target in Yulee. Jacksonville is roughly a 24-mile drive north of the business.
The owner had no idea that a small boy had picked it up and presented it to his mother. The Nassau County Sheriff’s Office stated in a news release on September 10 that the woman kept the ring secure in the hopes that its true owner would be located.
“Deputy Spencer diligently examined surveillance footage and transaction data with Target. Following corporate consent, Target supplied vital information that helped identify the family that had discovered the ring. Officials stated that by connecting the dots, the sheriff’s office was able to get in touch with the family who found the ring and retrieve it.
Maggie Prescott Appreciated Sheriff With A Post
For their cooperation with the search, Prescott commended Target and the sheriff’s office. “Crying so many happy tears. … I got married in October and this has been such a huge stress and you guys keeping my hopes up meant the absolute world,” Prescott wrote in a Facebook post.
“Thank you to the selfless, kind, truthful individual that found the ring and kept it safe while we searched for her. My faith in humanity is restored. … Next stop: super gluing this ring to my finger!”
The sheriff’s office also posted a picture of Spencer returning the ring on Facebook, showing it in what looked to be a plastic evidence bag.
