State media company China Media Group, the Esports World Cup Foundation, and tournament organizer VSPO have formed a strategic partnership. 

In a recent announcement, China Media Group revealed the establishment of the National Institute for Esports Development in Beijing on Friday. Following the unveiling, the institute signed an agreement with the Esports World Cup Foundation and VSPO. 

China to boost the ESports industry 

The China Media Group, the Esports World Cup Foundation, and VSPO will collaborate on and participate in future esports events. This partnership aims to enhance the development and organization of esports competitions, fostering growth in the industry through combined efforts.

China Media Group announced the establishment of the National Institute for Esports Development in Beijing on Friday.

Following this announcement, the institute signed an agreement with the Esports World Cup Foundation and VSPO. This collaboration aims to jointly organize and participate in future esports events, promoting the growth and development of the esports industry through their combined efforts.

Here’s what the chairman of VSPO said

This isn’t the first collaboration between VSPO and the Esports World Cup Foundation; they previously worked together on the Esports World Cup in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. 

Dino Ying, Chairman of VSPO, commented on the partnership: “It’s a huge honour to be a strategic partner with the Chinese Media Group and the Esports World Cup Foundation with the establishment of the CMG National Institute for Esports Development, which marks another key sign of Beijing’s support for esports development.”

Both organizations also receive support from Saudi Arabian investment groups. VSPO secured a $265 million (~£219 million) investment from Savvy Games Group, while the EWC Foundation is backed by the Saudi Arabian government.
