The Asian Electronic Sports Federation (AESF) and the Asian section of the International Sports Press Association (AIPS Asia) have entered into a strategic partnership aimed at elevating the promotion and development of esports not only in Asia but also on a global scale.

This partnership was solidified through the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) by AESF Vice President, Mr. Lokesh Suji, and AIPS Asia President, Mr. Jung Hee Don, at the 25th AIPS Asia Congress held in Kathmandu, Nepal.

Educational programs and workshops will be organized

Through AIPS Asia’s Young Reporters Program, the two organizations collaborate in granting young journalists the chance to cover esports events and obtain practical experience.

Along with other cooperative projects, instructional events and workshops covering esports culture, industry dynamics, and the ins and outs of esports reporting will be arranged for journalists and esports lovers.

The vice president of AESF, Mr. Lokesh Suji, affirmed his trust in the collaboration by saying “This collaboration marks a significant milestone in expanding esports journalism and nurturing the next generation of esports reporters in the region. It will open new doors for aspiring esports journalists, providing them with hands-on experience and the expertise needed to succeed in this fast-evolving field. We are confident that our joint efforts will elevate esports coverage to new heights and create a lasting impact across Asia and beyond. We look forward to seeing the transformative results this partnership will bring.”

 ‘Women in Sports Journalism Forum’

During the Congress, a specialized event called the ‘Women in Sports Journalism Forum’ was organized, providing a platform for AESF’s Head of Partnership and Growth, Ms. Janni Jensen, to offer valuable insights and feedback based on her experience within the esports federation.

Ms. Jensen not only shared her perspectives but also presented a detailed analysis of the evolution of esports within the Asian region. Furthermore, she underscored the significant role that AESF plays in advancing the presence of esports and digital sports in various Olympic-affiliated activities, highlighting the growing importance of these modern gaming platforms on a global scale.
