On Friday at Disney’s grand D23 Expo presentation, Pete Docter, Pixar’s chief, announced a new “Incredibles” movie. While no additional details were provided about the release year of the movie, this news has sent a wave of excitement amongst all Disney fans. Everyone is thrilled to watch Incredible’s new sequel.

Pixar Unveils New ‘Incredibles’ Sequel

In a 2018 interview, Brad Bird, director of the first two Incredibles films and the voice of Edna Mode, suggested that a third instalment could be a possibility, though it wasn’t something he was actively considering at the time he said that “I would rather say I’m not close to it, but it’s not on my mind.” Bird also added, “The last thing you want to do after swimming in the ocean for a month is go for a swim. I need to do something else for a while…we’ll see what the future has in store.”

But recently Disney and Pixar have officially announced that Incredibles 3 is in development, marking the continuation of the beloved Incredibles series. The announcement was made during the D23 fan event on August 9, representing a major moment for the superhero family saga.

The original Incredibles film, which debuted in 2004, received critical acclaim and won the Oscar for Best Animated Feature. The sequel, which came out in 2018, achieved significant commercial success, becoming Pixar’s highest-grossing film at the time until it was recently surpassed by Inside Out 2 and many fans suspect with the hype created around the movie, the incredible sequel might surpass the gross value of inside out 2.
