A recent WWE release caught a veteran off guard. JTG mentioned that Vince McMahon had previously refused to release this talent on several occasions.
From WWE Star to TNA Champion
The talent in question is Dolph Ziggler, now competing in TNA under the name Nic Nemeth. Despite being one of WWE’s most recognizable figures, Ziggler became more known for his incredible selling and frequent losses than for his wins. He had previously shared that Vince McMahon intended to keep him in WWE “forever.”
Vince McMahon is an American businessman and media mogul best known for his role as the longtime chairman and CEO of World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). Born on August 24, 1945, McMahon transformed WWE from a regional wrestling promotion into a global entertainment powerhouse. He is widely credited with revolutionizing the wrestling industry by blending sports and entertainment, coining the term “sports entertainment.”
On this week’s episode of Sportskeeda’s UnSKripted, JTG was asked about his views on underutilized talents in WWE. Using Dolph Ziggler as an example, he shared his thoughts:
“I can’t look at it from a personal perspective; I gotta look at it from a business perspective. Like as a businessman, you invested money into this superstar, and you haven’t gotten your money out of him yet… Every time you are on TV that costs money. Do you use them to make another superstar look good? You know that’s how get your money back? Or do you, you know, give him another shot? You gotta take away the personal side of it,” the veteran said.
Dolph Ziggler Competing As Nic Nemeth
Ziggler began his wrestling career in the early 2000s, competing in various independent promotions before signing with WWE in 2004. Initially wrestling under the ring name Nick Nemeth, he later adopted the moniker Dolph Ziggler, which would become synonymous with his persona.
Dolph Ziggler, now competing as Nic Nemeth, is currently the TNA World Champion. What lies ahead for him in his career remains uncertain.
