Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford’s woes continue both on and off the pitch. The 26-year-old has been slapped with a six-month driving ban for exceeding the speed limit in his Rolls-Royce on the M60 motorway in Manchester.

Speeding Ticket Adds to Rashford’s Troubles

According to Sky Sports, Rashford was caught driving at a staggering 104 mph in December 2023. This incident comes on the heels of another car accident involving Rashford less than three months prior, where he fortunately escaped injury after crashing a different Rolls-Royce.

The speeding offense has resulted in a significant penalty for Rashford. A court official confirmed a six-month driving ban, a hefty fine of £1,666, along with court costs and a surcharge, totaling an additional £186. Rashford reportedly admitted the offense under the Single Justice Procedure.

Rashford’s Form Slumps After Stellar 2023

Rashford’s driving woes are just the latest chapter in a concerning period for the player. The forward, who has been a key figure for England under former manager Gareth Southgate, found himself omitted from the recent Euro 2024 squad that reached the final.

This omission comes after a disappointing season for Rashford at the club level. He managed a mere eight goals across all competitions, a significant drop from his impressive 2023 campaign, where he netted 30 goals and earned Manchester United’s Player of the Year award. His overall output in the 2023/24 season, with just eight goals and five assists in 42 appearances, represents his lowest since the 2016/17 season.

Rashford Looks to Rebound in Pre-Season

Despite his struggles, Rashford remains a part of Manchester United’s plans. He featured in the team’s first pre-season friendly against Rosenborg, playing alongside first-team regulars. However, the team’s performance mirrored Rashford’s recent struggles, failing to break the deadlock and ultimately losing 1-0.

With the new season approaching, Rashford will be aiming to turn things around. He will need to rediscover his scoring touch and recapture the form that made him a key player for both club and country. Only time will tell if he can overcome these challenges and return to his previous heights.
