An Air Dynasty helicopter, identified as 9N-AGD, tragically crashed this afternoon in the Shivapuri district of Nuwakot, resulting in the devastating loss of all five passengers aboard. This fatal incident unfolded as the aircraft was being piloted by senior captain Arun Malla, marking a heartbreaking day for all those involved.

It was en route to Syaphrubensi

The helicopter, carrying a total of five passengers, embarked on its journey at 1:54 am from Kathmandu to Syaphrubensi. Among the passengers were four Chinese nationals. The aircraft was on route to its destination when it took off.

Three minutes after taking off from Tribhuvan International Airport, the helicopter abruptly lost contact with a tower, leaving a sense of unease and concern in the air. The sudden disappearance caused confusion and prompted immediate communication efforts to establish the whereabouts and safety of the aircraft.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Shantiraj Koirala of Nuwakot’s District Police Office solemnly verified the tragic recovery of five deceased individuals at the devastating crash scene.

Just a few weeks following the tragic crash of a Saurya Airlines plane at Tribhuvan International Airport on July 24, which resulted in the loss of 18 lives with the captain as the sole survivor, another aviation incident has occurred. This additional crash underscores the recent safety challenges in the aviation industry and raises concerns about flight operations and passenger security.

The recent event that has caused alarm in the Himalayan nation regarding air safety is raising concerns primarily due to a tragic series of flight disasters the region has witnessed in recent years. These incidents have instilled a sense of heightened anxiety among both the public and authorities, prompting urgent calls for the implementation of stricter safety protocols to avert any future aviation tragedies and ensure the well-being of passengers and air travel personnel.
