Tom Brady’s Fox broadcasting debut in Week 1 was anticipated, but it didn’t live up to expectations. Despite analyzing a big game, the Dallas Cowboys vs. Cleveland Browns, NFL fans were not fully sold on Brady’s capabilities. Former teammate Antonio Brown also raised an issue, trashing Brady’s debut.
Brown notoriously took multiple swipes at Brady
Brown said “Maybe someone should have listened to Tom Brady actually say words before dropping $300 million on him.”
Although Brady’s broadcasting pay was incorrect (the seven-time Super Bowl champion signed a 10-year, $375 million contract), Brown’s statement aligned with what the fans were saying that evening.
Either way, it’s obvious that Antonio Brown and his former quarterback are still very much in love. Brown is infamous for repeatedly making fun of Brady and Gisele Bundchen’s well-publicized divorce.
But Brown apologized to Brady early this year, saying “It’s been a minute. We’ll rekindle that when it’s time. But we can both agree we may have treated each other in not the best way. But as men we can attest to what was going well and hash it out. Too many jokes, we don’t want to joke about his wife. I made a joke about it but let’s be for real.”
“He’s not permitted to attend broadcast production meetings”
Before his Cowboys-Browns game, New England Patriots legend Tom Brady received news about his deal to buy Raiders ownership. The NFL has given Brady guidelines on what goes and what doesn’t if he becomes an NFL owner.
The Associated Press reports that Brady’s limitations in the broadcast booth will take effect immediately.
The report read “NFL says restrictions on Tom Brady start immediately because his potential transaction to purchase part of the Raiders is pending, “He’s not permitted to attend broadcast production meetings (in-person or virtually) and may not have access to team facilities or players and coaching personnel. Fox staff is not subject to these limitations.”
The report also added “He may broadcast Raiders games. He also has to abide by the league constitution and bylaws that prohibit public criticism of officials and other clubs.”
