Taylor Swift Speaks up about the Southport stabbing case in a Taylor-themed dance and yoga class after 2 kids lose their lives. The event took place on 29 July, 2024 when a lot of people had come together to share their love for Swift. The incident also hospitalized several people in Southport, England.

Merseyside Police Chief Constable Serena Kennedy confirmed that two children have died, with nine other children injured, six of whom are in critical condition. She also reported that two adults are in critical condition.

Pop sensation and Grammy winner  Taylor Swift has penned a note, extending her condolences to the victim’s families. Taylor took to Instagram, to share the statement in a post.

Swift wrote, “The horror of yesterday’s attack in Southport is washing over me continuously, and I’m just completely in shock… The loss of life and innocence, and the horrendous trauma inflicted on everyone who was there, the families and first responders.”

“These were just little kids at a dance class,” she added. “I am at a complete loss for how to ever convey my sympathies to these families.”

Police arrests a 17 year old for the stabbing

Police confirmed the arrest of a 17-year-old from Cardiff in connection with the stabbing. At the press conference, Kennedy stated that the teenager was taken into custody on suspicion of both murder and attempted murder.

“At this early stage, enquiries are ongoing to establish the motive for this tragic incident and we would urge people not to speculate while the investigation is ongoing,” the Merseyside Police statement read. 

“We can also confirm that the incident is not currently being treated as terror-related and we are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.”

“We believe that the adults who were injured were bravely trying to protect the children who were being attacked,” Kennedy said.

“Horrendous and deeply shocking news emerging from Southport,” UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer said in a post on X on Monday. “My thoughts are with all those affected. I would like to thank the police and emergency services for their swift response. I am being kept updated as the situation develops.”
