The actor, Topher Grace who played Eric Forman, in That ‘70s Show, made a brief appearance in the January 2023 premiere of That ‘90s Show, but his character is not expected to make a comeback to the Formans’ basement anytime soon

Topher Grace Might Not Return

In the series premiere of That ‘90s Show, Eric Forman drops off his daughter, Leia, for her summer vacation in 1996 at his parents’ home in Point Place, Wisconsin. Eric was an adjunct professor in Chicago at that time, teaching a course on the religion of Star Wars. Later Donna reveals to Leia that Eric has been offered a life-changing job opportunity.

“He’s on his way to Skywalker Ranch to shadow George Lucas and write a book about the making of the new Star Wars movies. It happened really fast. He got the call, packed his bag, and said goodbye to me in Wookiee.” Donna said in the seventh episode of Part 3.

Donna reveals to Leia, Red, and Kitty that she plans to travel between Chicago, California (where Eric’s new job is), and Point Place. She suggests Leia stay in Point Place full-time for the school year. Given Donna’s plans and Eric’s new location, it’s unlikely that Topher Grace will return to That ‘90s Show again.

“I Think They Introduced The Son”

In a report by People, Wilmer Valderrama said that there isn’t enough time for him to return to That ‘90s Show. “We’re pushing 20 episodes a season [on NCIS], but at the same time, it’s the kids’ jobs,” he added, referring to the newcomers.

“I mean, we did our thing, and I think they introduced the son right, like it was our son in the show and that was, you know, [enough],” Kunis said in an interview, confirming her and Kutcher not expecting to return.

In a report on TVLine Gregg Mettler said  that they “always hope to have everybody back,”

“When you get down to the nitty-gritty of it all, it’s about scheduling…. I will be grateful for the rest of eternity for the contributions of the legacy cast members from That ’70s Show in Part 1. Their return was a blessing, and they handed the show off in a delightful way. Focusing on our characters now and weaving in That ’70s Show people is a recipe that works for us,” He continued
