Who was Richard Simmons?
Richard Simmons born on July 12, 1948 in New Orleans, Louisiana was an American fitness instructor and television personality. He began his career with a gym in Slimmons in Beverly Hills, California. Richard was famous for his weight-loss programs and consumer products.
Additionally he was also part of many television shows and radio shows such as “Late Show with David Letterman” and “The Howard Stern Show.” Simmons later opened his exercise studio, “The Anatomy Asylum” to promote health benefits tips and tricks. After 2014 his fame and public appearances started decreasing as he stopped engaging with people and eventually in 2016 closed his gym.
How did he die?
As per the latest report Simmons’ death has “no foul play” involved. He died at the age of 76 at his Los Angeles home on July 13, 2024. Simmons fell and died a day after his 76th birthday, his housekeeper insisted him, to seek medical help but Richard refused to take it.
Simmons thanked his fans for birthday wishes shortly before his death,he wrote “ Thank you… I never got so many messages about my birthday in my life! I am sitting here writing emails. Have a most beautiful rest of your Friday.”
Richard’s team shared his last message
His team shared a picture on social media that he had already prepared and posted it as his last memory.
Team said, “Richard worked very hard on his posts for you. He had many ideas and would work ahead… going back to each one making changes until he had it just like he wanted before posting.
As you know, on the weekends, he would just share a photo with a caption. He always chose his photos and wrote his captions for the upcoming weekend by Friday. So we have the post Richard planned to share with you last Sunday. We thought you’d want to see it,” they added.
They shared a picture of him in NASA space suit standing in front of a red rock backdrop with a caption “Let me fly you to the moon so we can gaze among the stars. Love, Richard,”
