In an unexpected move, Prince Harry has arrived in New York City for a brief solo visit, leaving his wife, Meghan Markle, behind. This surprise trip has generated significant interest and curiosity among royal enthusiasts and the media alike. Prince Harry makes a solo visit to New York City, accompanying Queen Mathilde of Belgium and actor Forest Whitaker to a dinner hosted by the WHO on September 22.

Reason for the Solo Visit

The 40-year-old Duke of Sussex left on a scheduled solo trip in New York City on September 22. The last time Harry and Meghan Markle visited Manhattan was for a World Mental Health Day series of events in October 2023.

According to Hello!, Prince Harry was present at a well-attended dinner on Sunday night that was hosted by the World Health Organization (WHO) and had as its theme “Violence against children and its impact on mental health.” The Daily Mail reports that Queen Mathilde of Belgium, actor Forest Whitaker, and representatives from Sweden, Canada, Zimbabwe, Iceland, Brazil, Colombia, and Georgia were also present. These individuals are in New York City for the UN General Assembly.

Potential Engagements and Meetings

Prince Harry’s representative declared in August that the duke will make a trip to New York City during UN General Assembly High-level Week and Climate Week. High-level Week is from September 23 to September 27, while Climate Week is from September 22 to September 29.

Prince Harry would be in New York, the spokesperson continued, to “advance a number of his patronages and philanthropic initiatives” and “participate in engagements with African Parks, The HALO Trust, The Diana Award, and Travalyst.”Along with this, Harry will “be furthering the work of The Archewell Foundation, the nonprofit organization he co-founded with his wife Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex,” according to the statement.

The philanthropic Archewell Foundation was founded in 2020 by Harry and Meghan, 43, with the motto “Show up, do good,” according to its website.

The nonprofit’s three main areas of concentration have been narrowed down by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who highlighted these topics during their August trip to Colombia: uplifting communities, creating a better online environment, and restoring trust in information.

Chances of brothers encounter

When Prince Harry’s journey to New York City in September was announced, there was conjecture as to whether Prince William, his brother, and Harry would meet. This aligns with the Prince of Wales’ third annual Earthshot Prize Innovation Summit, which is scheduled for September 24 at the Plaza Hotel.

Regarding the Prince of Wales’ third annual Earthshot Prize Innovation Summit at the Plaza Hotel on September 24, several speculated that Prince Harry and his brother Prince William would be at the same location at the same time when the news of their September trip to New York City was made public. Prince William, 42, is not anticipated to attend this year, despite having been to New York for the occasion in September 2023.
