Despite previous interest in a political career, Markle, known for her critical views on Trump, is not expected to endorse Harris at the convention in Chicago’s United Center. Notable celebrities like Beyoncé, Michelle Obama, and Taylor Swift are anticipated to make appearances, but Markle’s participation seems unlikely.
Andrew Cockburn, Washington DC editor of Harper’s, expressed doubts about Markle’s impact. “Her selling power has really gone pretty rock bottom,” Cockburn noted, adding that her presence at the convention would likely have minimal effect. Markle’s attendance at the convention faces logistical challenges, as she is currently touring Colombia with Prince Harry. The couple has been in Bogotá since Thursday, following an invitation from Colombia’s Vice President, Francia Márquez.
