Luann de Lesseps Embraces Cabaret as TV Roles Slow

Luann de Lesseps, who is famous for being on “The Real Housewives of New York,” is focusing more on her cabaret career now that TV jobs are becoming less frequent. At a recent event in New York, the reality TV star talked about moving from the popular Bravo show to performing on stage. “I’m really grateful for my cabaret career because TV opportunities are very rare now,” she said. De Lesseps has built a successful cabaret act and plans to take it worldwide next year, with shows in London and Australia.

The 59-year-old singer and performer is excited about her upcoming November show at Sony Hall in New York, which is already sold out. Over the years, she has developed her cabaret career and enjoys the creative freedom it offers. Since reality TV doesn’t provide quick financial benefits, she mentioned, “It takes a long time to make money from ‘Housewives’—no one starts making money right away.”

Balancing Reality TV and New Ventures

Despite her rising success in cabaret, Luann de Lesseps remains active in reality TV projects. She has just finished filming for “Love Hotel” with fellow reality stars Gizelle Bryant, Ashley Darby, and Shannon Beador. While her cabaret career is thriving, she stays connected to her Bravo roots, having previously appeared in shows like “The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip” and “Luann & Sonja: Welcome to Crappie Lake.”

De Lesseps recognizes the unpredictable nature of reality television, particularly regarding personal conflicts. This was highlighted recently when “Love Hotel” host Joel Kim Booster apologized for some controversial comments he made about Shannon Beador. Although de Lesseps opted not to go into detail about the situation, she shared her sadness over the incident, stating, “People make mistakes, don’t they?”

The Future of Cabaret and Reality TV for De Lesseps

Luann de Lesseps remains optimistic about her future, especially with her cabaret shows gaining popularity. Her pivot from reality TV to live performances has provided a creative outlet, and she plans to expand her cabaret presence globally. The international tour next year will bring her act to new audiences, reinforcing the idea that there’s life beyond reality television.

At the same time, de Lesseps hasn’t closed the door on reality TV entirely. Her ability to balance both her stage performances and TV appearances keeps her relevant in both arenas. As she prepares for another sold-out show, it’s clear that her talents extend far beyond the confines of the Bravo franchise, signaling a long-lasting career in entertainment
