In a preview for her upcoming appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast, pop star Katy Perry opened up about her evolving approach to relationships and the lessons she’s learned from her past experiences. Known for her chart-topping hits and vibrant personality, Perry, 39, candidly discussed what she now seeks in a partner and the red flags she avoids.

Engaged to actor Orlando Bloom, Perry reflected on her journey toward emotional maturity. When asked by host Alex Cooper if she has a “type,” Perry smiled and responded, “I’m no longer attracted to narcissists.” This statement marks a significant shift from her previous relationships, which included high-profile romances with John Mayer and her marriage to Russell Brand.

Learning to Spot Red Flags

Perry elaborated on the red flags she’s now wary of, describing traits she once overlooked but now recognizes as deal-breakers.

“Anyone that is constantly changing the goalpost or pulling the rug out from you emotionally, not it,” she explained.

She also emphasised the importance of mutual effort in relationships, highlighting how small acts of care, like cleaning the kitchen, resonate deeply with her.

A Balanced Partnership with Orlando Bloom

Perry and Bloom, who share a daughter, Daisy Dove Bloom, have navigated the complexities of their busy careers and personal lives together.

Despite their hectic schedules, the couple prioritises their connection, with Bloom sharing in an April podcast that they work hard to maintain balance.

Their approach underscores Perry’s belief in the power of small, consistent efforts to sustain a healthy relationship.
