Jodie Sweetin, has taken a nostalgic trip down memory lane by recreating her Motown Philly dance routine from the beloved  “Full House” episode “Gotta Dance. 

Jodie Sweetin Recreates Iconic ‘Full House’ Dance 33 Years Later

Jodie Sweetin, now 42, has recreated the iconic “Motown Philly” dance from the beloved 1991 “Gotta Dance” episode of Full House. In a video shared on Instagram, Sweetin, accompanied by Mitchell Gerrard Johnson, danced to the Boyz II Men track, donning an updated version of her character Stephanie Tanner’s outfit—a black ruffled skirt, matching crop top, and jacket.

Full House aired for eight seasons from 1987 to 1995, and Sweetin later reprise her role in the Netflix reboot Fuller House, which ran from 2016 to 2020. This dance number holds a special place in Sweetin’s heart, as she revealed in a 2018 interview with *Today*. The actress shared that the background dancers were her real-life dance friends from her studio, and the choreography was created by her own dance teacher. 

Revisiting her sitcom days isn’t new for Sweetin, who, along with co-star Andrea Barber, co-hosts the How Rude, Tanneritos! podcast, where they re-watch and discuss Full House episodes.

Full House Cast Remains Close

In a heartwarming nod to her “Full House” days, Jodie Sweetin recently recreated one of her most famous dance routines from the show, 33 years after its original airing. Sweetin, who played Stephanie Tanner, donned the same outfit and performed the dance that fans of the beloved sitcom will instantly recognize. Reflecting on the experience, Sweetin shared how much fun it was to reunite with her childhood dance friends. “It was really fun ’cause they would get to come in for the week and I’d get to see all my little dance friends,” she said. “This was a number that they already did, that they were doing in competition, and I just jumped in for the week and had to learn it.”

Jodie Sweetin and her former co-star Andrea Barber, who played Kimmy Gibbler on “Full House,” have found another way to relive their sitcom days. The two actresses co-host the “How Rude, Tanneritos!” podcast, where they re-watch and discuss episodes of the show. The podcast has not only allowed them to reconnect with fans but also with each other, reigniting the bond they formed on set as young stars.

Sweetin emphasised the deep connections formed among the cast and their families over the years. “When we were shooting Fuller House, obviously, because the kids were coming around all the time and our families were there all the time,” .

she explained. “Our moms were close, our kids were close. That goes for everybody.” Sweetin noted that these close relationships extended beyond just the cast members, with everyone’s extended families becoming intertwined. “All of us are connected,” Sweetin said, highlighting the unique and enduring family-like bond that continues to thrive decades after the original show ended.
