Ahead of the publication of his new children’s book, 5 More Sleeps ‘Til Halloween, Jimmy Fallon, the Tonight Show host, expressed his bittersweet sentiments during the back-to-school season, stating that he will miss his daughters Winnie and Frances, who are returning to school, as autumn approaches.
“I don’t want [them] to go to school,”
Fallon said “I don’t want [them] to go to school, I don’t want them to meet other people. I don’t want them to do anything. I just want them to hang out with us for the rest of their life.”
Fallon, who has kids with wife Nancy Juvonen, said that despite his feelings, Winnie and Frances are looking forward to the new school year.
He added, “They love their school, they love their friends, And it’s another little chapter in their lives and another fun adventure.”
“They went to camp for the first time too this year,”
Jimmy Fallon, who celebrated his 2,000th episode on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon in July, also had a busy summer with his daughters achieving new milestones together.
“They went to camp for the first time too this year,” he said. He also shared that he and his wife missed them at the time.
“You can’t talk to them. You have like a set time…you can talk to them for five minutes…I miss them so much. I’m like, ‘Please don’t leave us.’ But they had fun.” He added.
Fallon’s upcoming children’s book, 5 More Sleeps ‘Til Halloween, will feature two siblings preparing for the spooky holiday season. The book, set in September, aims to be a great read for young readers and beyond.
He says “It makes a good decoration, even if you don’t want to read it, It makes a good gift if you don’t have kids, but you know kids that trick-or-treat and want to get them excited about the holiday.”
