Harvey Weinstein, the disgraced Hollywood producer, was rushed to Bellevue Hospital in New York City on Sunday night following severe chest pains. The 72-year-old, currently incarcerated at Rikers Island, underwent emergency heart surgery on Monday, marking a significant health crisis amid his ongoing legal battles.
Weinstein’s representatives, Craig Rothfeld and Juda Engelmayer, confirmed the procedure, stating, “Mr. Weinstein was rushed to Bellevue Hospital last night due to several medical conditions. We can confirm that Mr. Weinstein had a procedure and surgery on his heart today; however, we cannot comment any further than that.” This urgent medical intervention comes as Weinstein’s health has been deteriorating, with a history of multiple serious health issues.

Weinstein’s medical history is extensive, including diabetes, hypertension, and spinal stenosis. Earlier this year, he was hospitalized for COVID-19 and double pneumonia, which further complicated his health status. In the latest update, Rothfeld revealed that Weinstein had been feeling unwell for several weeks leading up to the surgery.
