According to the news, Warner Bros. has confirmed the Wonder Woman 1984 will be released in theatres as per its schedule. Due to the novel coronavirus pandemic across the globe, many events – be it sports or movie have been postponed while many theatres have been shut down ever since the pandemic started taking lives. Many even pushed back their event dates as well.

Movie to be released soon?

The team at Warner Brothers is probably going to take a huge decision as according to the report of TheWrap Toby Emmerich from Warner Pictures has started talking with his top advisers on switching the release of Wonder Woman 1984 directly to digital. Although anyone can expect that Warner’s hoping to still release it through the traditional way like the theatrical distribution channels and from that to see it straight-to-digital, a totally different thing as well.

“We’re looking to release the movie theatrically, that’s our plan,” Jeff Goldstein, the domestic distribution head of Warner said to the trade.

On the other hand, Roven, the producer didn’t like the idea as this is a big movie. “Everybody recognizes that, as interesting as streaming might be, if you want a huge, global worldwide box office, you’ve got to release it in a movie theatre,” he further added.

Theatres are closed for an indefinite period

Amid the coronavirus pandemic, all theatres in the United States have closed alongside others which included Regal Cinemas, AMC, Cinemark, Alamo Drafthouse, and a few too. It is not yet decided when Regal will be open whereas AMC suggested it would be closed between six to 12 weeks as well.

However, Wonder Woman 1984 is scheduled to release on June 5th. The other movies which are all set to release – DC movies, The Batman on June 25, 2021, The Suicide Squad on August 6, 2021, Black Adam on December 22, 2021, Shazam! 2 on April 1, 2022, The Flash on July 1, 2022, and Aquaman 2 on December 16, 2022.
