Kevin Yanick Steen or Kevin Ownes born on May 7, 1984 is a Canadian professional wrestler. He is currently signed to WWE, performing on the SmackDown brand under the ring name Kevin Ownes. In 2000, Steen began his career at the age of 16 and before joining WWE in late 2014, he wrestled under his birth name for Ring of Honor, won ROG World Championship and ROH World Tag Team Championship.
Moreover, last year, he also main-evented WrestleMania, where he and Sami Zayn defeated The Usos to end their historic title run. Kevin Owens signed with WWE on August 12, 2014, marking 10 years with the company today. The former Universal Champion has had a successful run, earning the title of Grand Slam Champion during his time with the global powerhouse.
Cody Rhodes Challenges Kevin Owens
The company’s upcoming live event where The Prizefighter will get an opportunity to become a world champion again as he challenges Cody Rhodes for his title at Bash in Berlin.
While both stars are currently babyfaces heading into the feud, there’s speculation that Kevin Owens might turn heel to unleash The Prizefighter on Rhodes. However, Hall of Famer Mark Henry believes they will wrestle honorably, with Owens resisting his villainous side at the PLE.
“Yeah, it’s gonna be a straightforward [match]. Kevin is at a place right now where they need another babyface. They don’t need more heels,” he said.
KO has not won a world title in WWE since his Universal Championship win in 2016 and initially , Kevin Owens did not want to accept Cody Rhodes’ challenge but eventually changed his mind after Nick Aldis said that he would then give the title shot to Roman Reigns.
