Mountaintop Studios’ latest tactical shooter, Spectre Divide, released on September 3, 2024, is making waves in the gaming community with its innovative mechanics and competitive elements. Featuring a unique gameplay twist where players control two bodies simultaneously, the 3v3 shooter has introduced an exciting new feature called “Crews.” This system allows large groups of up to 60 players to compete in weekly battles for leaderboard supremacy. With gaming icon Shroud’s endorsement, Spectre Divide is quickly building a fanbase, captivating players with its blend of teamwork, strategy, and social interaction.
How Crews Function in Spectre Divide
In Spectre Divide, Crews are the backbone of competitive gameplay. These teams can consist of up to 60 players who compete against other Crews to score points and climb the leaderboard. Players automatically join a Crew after completing three matches, allowing them to partake in weekly competitions that test both individual skill and teamwork. Every match counts toward the Crew’s overall points, and higher participation or wins contribute to better leaderboard rankings. The more a player plays and wins, the more they help boost their Crew’s chances of success.
Crews offer more than just competition; they serve as a social hub. Each Crew has its own private chat and member list, fostering a sense of community and allowing players to easily communicate, strategize, and make new friends. This social system encourages players to form bonds within the game, creating a network of teammates they can rely on. The inclusion of these features makes playing as part of a Crew a well-rounded experience that combines both tactical gameplay and camaraderie.
Earning Points and Climbing Divisions
The points system in Spectre Divide is designed to reward both participation and skill. Players earn between 8-23 points per match, with more points being awarded for winning, playing Competitive mode, or teaming up with Crew members. After each match, players can see their point contributions, which fill Player Score Slots and help propel their Crew up the leaderboard. Wildcard Slots further enhance this by utilizing additional points from players, ensuring that everyone’s best performance is taken into account.
Crews start in the Challenger Division and work their way up to the Championship Division, with each tier offering greater rewards. At the end of each season, players receive rewards such as gun charms and sprays based on their Crew’s Division. However, not all Divisions may receive the same rewards. This system incentivizes players to stay active and contribute as much as they can to help their Crew rise through the ranks, providing a sense of achievement and progression.
