A powerful 8.7 magnitude earthquake off Russia’s Kamchatka Peninsula has prompted a tsunami advisory across the US West Coast, including California, Oregon, Washington, Alaska, and Hawaii. Emergency evacuations are underway as authorities warn of dangerous waves and flooding risks. The advisory has also raised concerns over several high-profile celebrity homes located in coastal regions.

evacuation Oprah Winfrey’s sprawling 1,000-acre estate in Maui is under threat, and she’s facing criticism for allegedly not opening a private road that could aid evacuation efforts. The road, which connects Wailea to Kula, has become a focal point of public frustration as traffic bottlenecks hinder residents trying to reach higher ground.

Malibu and Montecito estates at risk

Leonardo DiCaprio’s $13.75 million waterfront property in Malibu, Jennifer Aniston’s $15 million Montecito mansion, and Sandra Bullock’s beach house in Malibu Cove Colony are among the celebrity homes potentially impacted by the tsunami alert. These estates, known for their ocean views and proximity to the coast, are now vulnerable to flooding and wave surges.

Other celebrity homes in danger zones

Gwyneth Paltrow, Katy Perry, Ashton Kutcher, Mila Kunis, Paris Hilton, Mel Gibson, Courteney Cox, and Robert Downey Jr. also own properties in coastal areas flagged by the advisory. Many of these homes are located in Santa Barbara County, Malibu, and Santa Monica—regions known for their scenic beauty but now facing natural disaster risks
