On Monday Rapper Sean Kingston and his mother pleaded not guilty after being charged of defrauding several businesses and theft of over $1 million.
Both Remained Silent While Leaving The Courtroom
The Sun Sentinel reported that Kingston, 34, also known as Kisean Anderson, and his mother, also known as Janice Turner, 61, during an arraignment hearing entered the pleas before Broward Circuit Judge Ernest Kollra. As per newspaper, Bond was previously set at $90,000 and Kollra did not alter the decision.
Kingston and Turner wearing matching outfits submitted written pleas of not guilty and remained silent while leaving the courthouse.
Sean Kingston’s born Kisean Paul Anderson on February 3, 1990, is a Jamaican-American rapper and singer known for his 2007 hit single “Beautiful Girls.” He gained fame with his blend of reggae, dancehall, and pop influences. Kingston’s debut album, also titled Sean Kingston, was successful, and he followed up with hits like “Fire Burning” and “Take You There,” Moreover, the rapper has collaborated with many celebrities.
Accused Of Defrauding Several Companies
Arrest warrants claimed that Kingston and his mother were accused of defrauding companies including, a luxury jewelry business, a luxury bed company, a used luxury and exotic car dealership, and a luxury micro LED TV company since October 2023. The newspaper said that both of them are expected to be in court in October. 11, facing related charges in federal court.
In may, Kingston was arrested in Fort Irwin, California, a warrant issued by the Broward Sheriff’s Office after raiding his home by a SWAT team in Southwest Ranches. The Rapper and his mother pleaded not guilty for the fraud and theft charges.
