Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie will keep their royal titles, even after King Charles removed all of Prince Andrew’s styles and honors. Royal experts say King George V’s 1917 Letters Patent protects their positions. The document gives male-line grandchildren of a monarch the right to the title Prince or Princess and the style Royal Highness.
Page Six confirmed, “the two will retain their royal titles in accordance with King George V’s Letters Patent of 1917.” As granddaughters of Queen Elizabeth II, Beatrice and Eugenie continue to hold the style Her Royal Highness. Their royal identities stay secure despite their father’s growing scandal.
King Charles Removes Prince Andrew’s Titles and Honors
Buckingham Palace announced, “His Majesty has today initiated a formal process to remove the Style, Titles and Honours of Prince Andrew.” The King stripped him of every royal title, including “Prince, Duke of York, Earl of Inverness, Baron Killyleagh and ‘His Royal Highness.’”
The statement added, “These censures are deemed necessary, notwithstanding the fact that he continues to deny the allegations against him. Their Majesties wish to make clear that their thoughts and utmost sympathies have been, and will remain with, the victims and survivors of any and all forms of abuse.”
King Charles also removed Andrew’s Order of the Garter and Knight Grand Cross of the Royal Victorian Order. Andrew now goes by Andrew Mountbatten Windsor. He plans to leave Royal Lodge and relocate to a private residence on the Sandringham Estate. This move ends his long occupancy of the Windsor property.
Beatrice and Eugenie Stand Firm in Their Royal Roles
Beatrice and Eugenie continue to hold their HRH titles because the Letters Patent of 1917 safeguards them. As royal descendants through the male line, their status does not depend on their father’s standing.
Prince Andrew wrote, “I have decided, as I always have, to put my duty to my family and country first.” Both daughters have taken quiet steps away from the controversy. Eugenie joined friends on a Paris getaway, while Beatrice attended events in Saudi Arabia after the announcement.
Insiders say Prince William takes a “zero-tolerance” stance toward his uncle’s scandal. Reports claim he “threatened to remove Eugenie and Beatrice’s titles if they didn’t convince Andrew to move out of Royal Lodge.”
Beatrice and Eugenie continue their royal lives as HRH Princess Beatrice and HRH Princess Eugenie. Their names remain part of Britain’s royal heritage, even as their father’s reputation fades.
