In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE at The Elizabeth Taylor Ball to End AIDS on Thursday, Sept. 26, Kathy, 65, discussed how she and the entrepreneur Rick Hilton, 69, have maintained their relationship for more than 40 years.
“Always Keep It Exciting And Fun”
“We have not been away from each other for two weeks in 43 years of marriage,” she tells PEOPLE about her relationship with the co-founder of Hilton & Hyland.
“I don’t think you go to bed without saying, ‘I love you,’ and giving each other a kiss and never in a fight or anything. If you have had a disagreement, you always make up before you go to sleep and keep a little mystery and always keep it exciting and fun,” she added at the event, which took place at The Beverly Hills Hotel.
Earlier this year, Kathy disclosed that she and Rick have an unexpected date night destination they visit every week.
“We go there once a week,” she told Page Six.“All their food is good,” she added. “Actually, you walk in there, and there are people. We love that! We don’t want to sit in a restaurant with nobody in the room.”
“It’s local, it’s right there and fresh and busy all the time,” she continued.
Kathy Reveals Their Favorite Restaurant Orders
Kathy also mentioned that she typically orders the meatloaf, while her husband enjoys the chicken alfredo and the dish that comes with a dipping sauce.
However, Kathy shared with PEOPLE that the couple hasn’t been to the chain “in a month.”
“So we got to get back there,” Kathy says. “We’ve been on an Italian kick.”
Kathy and Rick got married in 1979 when she was just 20 years old, and they will celebrate their 44th wedding anniversary on November 24.
Together, they have four children: Paris, 43, Nicky, 40, Barron, 34, and Conrad, 30, and they are also proud grandparents to eight grandchildren.
