As Meghan Markle imparted an optimistic address as part of the United Nations Foundation’s Girl Up conclave overnight, her audience comprised of 40,000 young women from across the world. But what title was attributed to her in the summit? To one’s surprise, it was the Duchess of Sussex that the A-list speaker agreed to be called upon!

This clear cut deviation from the existing royal protocols however offers a prominent glimpse of Meghan’s plans as she intends to merge her identity with the former royal brand to soon create a unique label worldwide. But that’s not the end!
Countering the standards
While the Suits actress delivered her bold, inspiring speech towards the youngsters with the motive of empowering them, several statements echoed her subtle reprimand of the royal brood. That came out quite evident in her utterings, “Women have always historically gotten a lot of, ‘Well, that isn’t how it’s done’ or ‘Yeah, that’s an idea, but let’s do this instead.’ But when do we hear that as women? We hear that in the moments we challenge the norms”. Indeed, it distinctly points out the implications in the reality.
Omitting the ‘noise’
Meghan further indulged in a quick dig at the imperial family when she said, “There will always be negative voices and sometimes those voices can appear to be outsized, and sometimes they can appear to be painfully loud. You can and will use your own voices to drown out the noise. Because that’s what it is — just noise.”
She concluded her speech of the day saying, “The hardest part — and it was the hardest part for me — is to chase your convictions with action,” as she sported an easy to go blue outfit, matched with a cool hairstyle. To be honest, the battle is just in its inception as Meghan prepares for the second appearance at the meeting.
