Have you thought about any fresh perspective of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s story to be independent royals? If not, then here goes a brand new angle!
To the disclosure
Recently reports have claimed the price of the couple’s stay in Canada when papers from Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) was obtained by the Canadian Taxpayers Federation. It says that the cost of providing security forces to the pair stood at a net worth of £32,900 (C$56,384).
However, the amount applies to the period starting from November 18 to January 19 last year. But the total sum is yet devoid of the salaries received by Mounties which exclusively comprises of extra costs including that of overtime, travel bearings, foods and accommodation.

The final approval
In an email to her colleagues on January 10, RCMP National Division commanding officer Bernadine Chapman delivered a warning for the duo’s security stating, “Media spin is about the cost to Canadians. We are having a greater conversation next week on the go forward on this. This has the potential to cost us huge!”. And that definitely ended up in charging a lump sum to the authorities after the Metropolitan Police provided a nod to the decision.
Later on, more than 80,000 citizens of the nation appealed to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau against paying for the couple.

The dwindling agreement
Meanwhile, Aaron Wudrick, Federal Director of the Canadian Taxpayers Federation defended the couple’s side saying, “More than C$50,000 is nothing to sneeze at, especially when you consider the fact that this is taxpayers’ money covering bills for one of the most famous and wealthy couples in the world. Had the government not cut them off and had Meghan and Harry stayed in Canada, the bill could have easily turned into millions.”
Afterwards, the RCMP came up with a statement reading, “For security reasons and to protect our operations, we are not releasing salary costs’ which says that the “costs for protection are covered through the existing operational budget.”
Now, it’s simply your turn to speculate on the issue whether it’s fair or not!
