Meghan Markle is all set to claim the center stage for the first time since March at the virtual conclave organized by Girl Up. The meeting is taking place today and tomorrow where the Suits actress would share the podium with other high-profile speakers including former US First Lady, Michelle Obama and former US Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton.
A paid appointment?
To give a brief about Girl Up, it happens to be a consortium which operates in 120 countries with the motive of uniting young female leaders for equality in wages, rights as well as living standards. But whether Meghan’s presence in the yearly conference would charge the league or not, remains known.
Eyeing social commitment
In the past, Meghan along with her husband Prince Harry took part in a conference call with the deployed team at Crisis Text Line in Atlanta as they wanted to hear about the challenges from the volunteers faced amidst the pandemic and lockdown.
On the other hand, the duo has interacted with the budding leaders and trustees at the Queen’s Commonwealth Trust (QCT) where they own the posts of vice president and president.
Heading towards another milestone
Following Megxit, the couple intended to continue representing the Crown with several tours and engagements besides indulging in profitable signs of progress.
While speaking about their new project Archewell in April, the pair revealed to the Daily Telegraph, “Before SussexRoyal, came the idea of ‘Arche’ – the Greek word meaning ‘source of action’. We connected to this concept for the charitable organization we hoped to build one day, and it became the inspiration for our son’s name. To do something of meaning, to do something that matters. Archewell is a name that combines an ancient word for strength and action, and another that evokes the deep resources we each must draw upon.”
