As Hugh Jackman‘s much-admired take on X-Men deviant Wolverine ended with 2017’s Logan, the history witnessed the peaceful death of our favorite character after completion of the final mission and that came more than a shock to the fandom who expected a lot more from the role. Recently, the film’s writer and director James Mangold, disclosed that it was rather an easy decision to project Wolverine during such a phase as he spoke to ComicBook.com before a quarantine watch event of Logan.

He revealed, “It seemed logical, that if it were going to be his last film, that he’s either going to ride off onto the horizon or die, that you need to have some kind of curtain on his story.” From there ‘the sense of closure’ was derived within the plot while recapitulating his performances throughout his career that gave way to a definite juncture.

He also admitted that Fox studio also supported the idea when it was pitched rather than showing any nervousness which felt more ‘like an event’ on the go.

He further continued saying, “It gave the movie, on a simple level, the reality that while it may not feature as flamboyant or expensive action as some other movies.” Indeed, that wasn’t superficial!

In the past, Jackman has indicated that his exit from the role doesn’t necessarily put an end on the character of Wolverine who thought “the character will go on” someday with its unique bearing. Then he told, “Someone else will play it, for sure”.

Meanwhile, Logan producer Hutch Parker has rejected the statement when it comes to getting on the role in the future, who added that “the idea of casting someone else as Wolverine is just not something I can think about”. And neither can the fandom!
