Travis Scott debuted at No. 1 on the Hot 100 with his new single “Highest in the Room” last week. With this, he ended Lizzo’s six-week winning streak who was enjoying the number 1 place with “Truth Hurts.” Although any artist would be sad to see their song moves down from the number 1 spot, the newcomer must have been something special in it, as she missed to do an all-time record by an inch. However, Lizzo’s ‘Truth Hurts’ is once again back on top, and she has made history by returning to the place.
It has now collected seven non-consecutive stays at No. 1 on the Hot 100 list. Lizzo’s first and only leader is now Iggy Azalea and Charli XCX’s “Fancy,” which has ruled for seven frames in its time, and Maroon 5 and Cardi B’s “Girls Like You” is also in the list which left the place last year after staying seven times at the top.
All the three songs are tied with seven weeks at No. 1 each, but only “Truth Hurts” has a chance to break the previous record.
Behind Lizzo, Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello’s “Senorita” and Lewis Capaldi’s “Someone You Loved,” are currently placed at No. 2 and 3, respectively. But none of those seems to top the chart. Hence, a chance for ‘Truth Hurts’ is still there.
