When Kate Middleton walked down the aisle to meet her would-be husband on the wedding day, her father Michael turned out to be a huge support. Then the future Duchess of Cambridge sported a happy yet nervous look while entering Westminster Abbey, as the venue was filled with family, friends, and VIPs.
An ideal dad
While the father-daughter left the hotel on their way to the Abbey, Michael comforted Kate in every possible way. Meanwhile, as they arrived at the back Abbey, the duo stopped for a brief moment before stepping inside. At that time the proud dad asked Kate if she was alright, followed by her reply-“Yeah”, CBS News has reported.
The Archbishop of Canterbury, however, greeted them as he conducted the ceremony, and the trio interacted shortly. Then the bride said, “Yes I suppose so … I expect I’ll be worn out today. Thank you.”
The abrupt pun
On the other hand, William and his brother Prince Harry were waiting at the altar.
As the former turned around to cast a look at his soon-to-be sister-in-law, he muttered a few words to his elder sibling saying, “Right, here she is now. ” Further as he assessed Kate, he laughed before remarking, “Well, she looks beautiful, I can tell you that.” Indeed, Kate donned her gorgeous Sarah Burton at Alexander McQueen gown.
Meanwhile, the groom gleamed as he whispered, “You look lovely. You look beautiful.”
But the scene didn’t stop him to share a quick joke with his father in law as he said, “We’re supposed to have just a small family affair.”
The auspicious occasion
On the go, the occasion ended in a positive note while the crowd beamed as the couple shared their first kiss as husband and wife. After some time, the newly married duo took a carriage ride around the area to wave towards their waiting well-wishers. During the ride, William said: “I hope I remember… It’s mad, it’s mad! Oh my goodness it … really loudly here.”
Later on, Kate said, “You look happy.”
