The controversy regarding Keanu Reeves has taken another turn as he has found himself in a Bizarre situation.
Back Story
After he was seen as Naymor by Marvel artist and became one of the Internet’s beloved men, now its Deepfakes which made him trendy on the social media once again.
Deepfake is a technique for human image synthesis which is based on artificial intelligence. It combines and superimposes existing images and videos on the source images or videos by using a machine learning technique. The technique is known as generative adversarial network. However, the phrase “deepfake” was found in 2017.
However, Deepfakes have become a disaster. Recently Joe Rogan’s vocal deepfake went in a hilarious fashion when it was found as a pretty accurate but disturbing manner. The technology has already caused problems for many stars or public figures as many of them found themselves in various pornographic images.
However, Keanu Reeves was found in Sesame Street, an American television series.
The effects have seen soon after as a young child whose face resembles Reeves and eventually, child-Reeves joins the fun with his own voice. Although it wouldn’t pass as authentic, it shows what the technology can do. However, an older Reeves-hybrid was also added his voice there. However, this one was a little better than the young one.
Effect of the Deep Fake
However, it can be taken as fun right now. Until anyone finds themselves doing the things they didn’t actually do. This can really be very bad at times. The question remains what would happen when the technology will reach its peak and wrongdoers will utilise this for their selfish motive? No one would be able to save us at that time. It would be better for all of us to understand what we should do and what not before something bad takes place.
