Tom Cruise’ yelling at Mission Impossible crew became viral on the internet. George Clooney in the same regard came forward with his two cents and mentioned that Cruise did not overreact.
Back story
Tom Cruise during the shooting of Mission Impossible 7 lost his calm and shouted at a pair of crew members. They were not maintaining the Covid-19 protocols and this did not go well with the superstar. He yelled at them and said, “Do you understand what I want? Do you understand the responsibility that you have? Because I will deal with your reason. And if you can’t be reasonable and I can’t deal with your logic, you’re fired. That’s it…that is it. I trust you guys to be here. That’s it. That’s it guys. Have a little think about it. . .[inaudible].”
He was clearly worried for the entire pandemic situation and did not want the shooting to be stopped for any such reason. But the way he reacted did not go well with all. However, he found support in George Clooney who seemed to have understood Tom Cruise.
Why did Tom Cruise Lose his Temper on the Set of Mission Impossible 7?
What does Clooney say?
Clooney said, “He didn’t overreact because it is a problem. I have a friend who’s an AD on another TV show who just had the almost exact same thing happen with not quite as far out a response.” However, he mentioned that in such a situation he would have differently.
Clooney explained to Howard Stern, “You’re in a position of power and it’s tricky, right? You do have a responsibility for everybody else and he’s absolutely right about that. And, you know, if the production goes down, a lot of people lose their jobs. People have to understand that and have to be responsible. It’s just not my style to, you know, to take everybody to task that way.”
