West Ham United have named Nuno Espirito Santo as their new head coach following the dismissal of Graham Potter. The 51-year-old has signed a three-year contract and will lead the team in their upcoming Premier League clash against Everton on Monday.
Potter Departs After Poor Run
Graham Potter was sacked after just eight months in charge, with West Ham sitting 19th in the table. The club cited disappointing results and performances as the reason for the change, stating that a new direction was needed to improve their league position.
Nuno’s Return After Forest Exit
Nuno joins West Ham shortly after leaving Nottingham Forest, where he achieved a seventh-place finish last season—their best since 1994-95. Despite that success, he was dismissed just three games into the current campaign. He took his first training session with the Hammers on Saturday.
Interim Support and Future Plans
Until a full backroom team is announced, Nuno will be supported by academy coaches Mark Robson, Steve Potts, Gerard Prenderville, and Billy Lepine. The club emphasized its commitment to backing Nuno and turning around the season with renewed energy and leadership.
