The ‘Ellen DeGeneres Show’ has acquired too many Emmy awards. In recent times, Ellen DeGeneres and the show are on the rows as the former producer has accused the host to be toxic along with the workplace. The staffers claim that by toxicity they mean racism and bullying by the upper management. Also, they say that the American Comedian is herself mean-spirited.
Culture of fear in the workplace
The 2003 staff Hedda Muskat reveals to The Wrap on August 3, that she had witnessed a ‘culture of fear’ from the time she has joined the show. She has never seen a toxic host she claimed. Along with Ellen DeGeneres, she also called out Ed Glavin, executive producer, who also added negative vibes in the office. In a staff meeting, she claimed that a crew member was screamed at by Glavin.
Within a year, she reveals that she was isolated and kept away from responsibilities as much as possible. She resigned in 2004, before winning the first Emmy.
Though, actor Portia defends DeGeneres, after the reports against the show and the host surfaced, took to Instagram quoting that she stands by Ellen. Its 12 years Ellen and Portia are married to each other.
Hashtag wars to replace Ellen
The recent reports and allegations have developed a hashtag war saying, Replace Ellen. On Monday this went viral. Also, suggestions are pouring in who should take over the show. Harry Styles, the British singer, and Michelle Obama’s names are being suggested for the show to get conducted by them.
The Warner Bros.Television held a meeting to investigate the matter last week by changing the staffs. Sources say that DeGeneres has herself mailed the staffs regretting about the mishaps took place in the backstage. Though other public figures DJ Samantha Ronson, Nacho Figueras is totally in support of Ellen stating that she has made the world a better place for many.
