Stress and tension are rising within the walls of the royal family as Prince Harry Is all set to inherit a substantial $8.5 million windfall. The payout stems from a trust fund established by the late Queen Mother and is scheduled to be given to the Duke of Sussex.
The Trust Fund Factor
The Duke is set to celebrate his 40th birthday in September, and thanks to his great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother, he won’t have to worry about financial issues moving forward in his life. This large sum of money comes from a $90 million trust fund which was set up by the Queen Mother with her family’s future in mind.
According to the rules and regulations of the fund, Harry is eligible to receive his share when he turns 40. Whereas, William stands to gain a considerable advantage from the Duchy of Cornwall, an inheritance of substantial value. This significant fund is expected to greatly enhance Harry’s financial autonomy, providing him with a substantial boost to his economic independence and for his future activities.
William and Kate’s mistrust of Harry
The Discrepancy between the estranged brothers is reportedly widening over time, with sources disclosing that William and Kate believe that Harry is unworthy of the financial benefits he is receiving. Both William and Kate both uphold little to no trust for Harry and Meghan which makes it difficult for them to trust both of them with the inheritance they are about to receive from their great-grandmother’s fund.
According to insiders, “There’s nothing Harry can do except shake his head, but if it were up to him, he wouldn’t be getting this payday.” William reportedly feels that Harry is not deserving of this financial handout and is openly expressing his dissatisfaction with the situation.
Although King Charles is reportedly keen to move beyond old disputes and mend his relationship with Harry, William and Kate continue to harbour resentment over the Duke’s critical comments about them in his memoir, *Spare*. William is said to be particularly irritated that Harry is receiving what he views as an undeserved reward, and he feels that William is undeserving of the inheritance.
