According to a new report, the famous star Britney Spears has urged that her father Jamie Spears be removed from her conservatorship.
Notably, she has been under a conservatorship for more than a decade which has been supervising by her father who took a break from the role due to health issues.
On Monday, Spears’ lawyer, Samuel D. Ingham III, has filed official court documents where it was said that the famous pop singer “is strongly opposed to having [Jamie] return as the conservator of her person,” as per the court documents obtained by Us Weekly.

Spears doesn’t want her father as conservator?
It further read that the singer would prefer her care manager, Jodi Montgomery who was in that role for nearly a year after her father stepped down. Moreover, the documents reportedly state that Spears is ‘strongly opposed’ to her 68-year-old father “continuing as sole conservator of her estate,” and she wants ‘to have a qualified corporate fiduciary appointed to serve in this role.’
However, Ingham did not reply to Fox News’ request for comment on this matter, nor did Spears’ representatives or her father’s attorney and former co-conservator, Andrew Wallet. On the other hand, Us Weekly reported that Britney does not want to terminate the conservatorship, instead of that, she wants to make Montgomery’s installment “permanent.”

It is noteworthy that the conservatorship took place in 2008 when the court originally named Jamie as the permanent conservator of her, whereas her attorney Andrew Wallet was appointed as the permanent co-conservator of Spears’ estate, as per the People magazine.
Meanwhile, Montgomery has been playing the role of a conservator, which was extended until Aug. 22 due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Meanwhile, the matter related to conservatorship has grown strong in the past few years that fans have launched the #FreeBritney campaign to show support for their favourite singer as she allegedly has nearly no control over her money, career, and life as well.
The situation got worse when in a recent interview, Britney’s brother Bryan said that she’s wanted out of the conservatorship for quite some time now and her mother also reportedly has filed documents requesting to be informed of Spears’ finances too. But his father, Jamie told Page Six earlier this month that the #FreeBritney movement is nothing but a “joke.”
He added, “All these conspiracy theorists don’t know anything. The world don’t have a clue,” he said. “It’s up to the court of California to decide what’s best for my daughter. It’s no one else’s business. I love my daughter. I love all my kids. But this is our business. It’s private.”
