Obama’s high school basketball jersey sells for $120,000

Former President Barack Obama’s high school basketball jersey sells for $120,000 at auction. Believe it or not but this has actually happened. He wore the jersey at  Punahou School in Honolulu as a member of the 1979 Hawaii State Champion boys’ varsity basketball team.

The Story

Heritage Auctions informed that the jersey sold to a collector of American and sports artefacts who didn’t wish to be identified, at Saturday night in Dallas. Peter Noble offered the jersey who was three years behind Obama at the Punahou School.

Noble, who is now 55 and have been living in Seattle, said the jersey was in the destiny for the trash when he had picked it up from there. However, he saw an old photo of Obama many years later where he was seen wearing a No. 23 jersey while at school.

Auction Story

The auction house shares the details of the shirt and in which match Obama used that and photographed wearing that one. Meanwhile, Noble says a part of the sale will go to the school only.

The 44th president of the United States, Barack Obama is known as an avid basketball fan. He used to have played in high school. His annual March Madness and predictions were also seen during his tenure in the White House.
