Marvel Studios is always known for landing some top-notch actors.
And now, Kevin Feige gets the person, he has wanted all these days more often than not! There are not many actors who have told MCU ‘no’, and usually those who have given ‘maybes’ have turned around to say yes in the end.
The Pending Jolt In MCU
One action hero who is yet to debut with the Marvel Cinematic Universe is Jason Statham. Based on a telephonic conversation somedays back and an “almost” situation, he’s likely on the studio’s radar. But whether he would step into a skintight suit to save the day or wreak havoc on the world yet throws a question towards the fandom.
We Got This Covered (WGTC) notes revealed, Jason Statham was one of the actors heavily considered for the role of the villain Bullseye in Daredevil. However, Marvel President, Kevin Feige has noted that the actor was being eyed for a film as well.
Climbing To The Tip Of Success: The Unsurmountable Opportunity
When discussing about the conversation that he had with Jason Statham, Feige did not reveal what movie he wanted the actor to star in, who however disclosed Statham rejecting such offer due to conflicting schedules.
Feige recalls this bit from his interaction with the Hobbs and Shaw star, Statham: “I was in another meeting a few days later, and my cellphone rang. I didn’t recognise the number, but I answered it. And it was Jason Statham. He was saying, ‘Sorry it didn’t work out, maybe next time’. He couldn’t have been nicer!”
The statement has cast doubt on Statham’s interest in the role of a superhero, and onto the genre altogether.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Statham said: “I could take my grandma and put her in a cape, and they’ll put her on a green screen, and they’ll have stunt doubles come in and do all the action,” Statham replied. “Anybody can do it.”
While it would be a really epic moment to see Statham taking onto the screen in an MCU instalment, its yet like a pipedream!
