The case came into limelight because of US President Donald Trump’s intervention. However, the Rocky and two associates were found guilty after the altercation. Rocky, 30, has given “conditional sentence” which meant he didn’t have to go to the prison.
The court, in spite of taking him to the prison, has ordered him to pay a hefty amount the damages control to the victim, and to along with the legal costs that were done by the Swedish government during his prosecution.
The judgment was announced at 2:00 p.m. local (8:00 a.m. ET) from Stockholm District Court where it was said that the defendants were not in a situation where they could hit them. Moreover, it was said that there was no news on whether the victims have received the amount. However, the defendants will repay the state for all the expenses.
However, this is not the first time for Rocky. Earlier he was detained on July 3 in Sweden over his involvement in an on June 30 in an altercation in Stockholm.
Later, he was released on a temporary basis from on August 2 in Stockholm. The video which was released by TMZ showed that the rapper threw someone to the ground. He was in the country for a hip-hop concert on July 2.
The prosecutor Daniel Suneson previously asked for a six-month prison sentence for the rapper. On the other hand, President Donald Trump was seen pretty much involved in the case.
“Sweden has let our African American Community down in the United States,” Trump tweeted earlier.
“I watched the tapes of A$AP Rocky, and he was being followed and harassed by troublemakers. Treat Americans fairly! #FreeRocky.”
Rocky’s lawyer commented that the rapper was held in a pretty bad condition. Although, he has been nominated for two Grammys and got the support from celebrities like Sean “Diddy” Combs, Justin Bieber etc.
